New Chairs Elected

Swansea Green Party are proud to announce the election of our new co-chairpersons, Jim Robinson and Will Beasley. Jim and Will are both long time Green Party members and have played active parts in many of our recent campaigns.

Jim has been a party member and activist for over 7 years and recently stood in the 2022 council election as candidate for Dunvant and Killay ward. Local residents may also know Jim as the owner of Killay Pet Shop.

Will, another long time member and activist also stood in 2022 as candidate for Mumbles ward and achieved a respectable result in what is traditionally a very conservative area. A consultant surgeon by day, Will is also involved in a number of initiatives to promote greener and more sustainable practices within the NHS.

Jim and Will agreed to become co-chairs after the previous chair Chris Evans resigned the post after being elected as councillor for Mayals ward. Chris felt as a new councillor it was necessary to step down from the chair in order to focus fully on his responsibilities to his constituents, so after a unanimous vote at our May meeting, Jim and Will were duly appointed.

We’d like to wish Jim and Will every success in their new role, we are sure the chair is in safe hands.
