Get involved

There has never been a better time to get involved with the work of the Green Party. Any help you give us, from a regular donation to work on the doorstep, will make a real difference to getting more Greens elected so we can create a fairer, cleaner, more affordable future for everyone.

Next meeting

The Swansea & Gower Green Party holds meetings every two weeks, typically on Tuesdays, rotating the location around the constituencies to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to attend. Whatever your political stance, everyone is welcome to attend meetings. Attending a meeting is an opportunity to learn about and share your views on how Green politics can improve Swansea and the Gower for us all.

For more information, please contact Tony Young (Co-Chair) on 01792 588025. See the Event Calendar page for current events

VocalEyes, get involved from home

Not everyone has the time or ability to attend meetings, but there is still a way you can have a real say and help shape the direction of the local party through an online tool called VocalEyes. Its an way for a community to brainstorm ideas online, to vote on them and follow their progress from raw idea to reality. It offers transparent, bottom up democracy, which results in leaders acting more as spokespeople rather than just sitting around in meetings which are more an echo chamber of their own views of what they think people want.

If you would like to get involved please create an account at VocalEyes, search for the Swansea and Gower Green Party group and apply to join. Even if you are not a Green Party member you can still try out the system and see what your local community are discussing.

Our Area

The Swansea Region covers all of Swansea Bay, including the Gower, Swansea West and Swansea East and we are contesting all of them at the General Election. We campaign on local, national and international issues and look to stand candidates at all local council and general elections.

Join the Green Party

As a member, you can be as active as you like, from armchair and online support to standing as a candidate for election. For more information, please contact Anthony Young (Secretary/ Local Party Contact) by email or telephone as above.

Students: Join the Green Party for just £5 a year!

Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers. Volunteers can help with our campaigning work on issues we all hold dear. Could you help deliver leaflets to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns?

Do you have fundraising experience or web design, press, research and administrative skills? Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you.

Please contact either Ashley Wakeling or Tony Young by email or telephone as above for more information about ways you can get involved.

Stand for Swansea Council

We currently have one elected councillor in the Village of Southgate on Pennard Community Council. Swansea Green Party is committed to stand at every by-election we possibly can to give everyone a green voice on the Council.

We need lots of enthusiastic, committed and hard-working candidates. We are particularly keen to ensure diversity amongst our candidates. If you can see yourself with a rosette on, beaming on the doorstep, please let us know and we'll rush to find an open seat.
